Jamie Lee Curtis was In-N-Out of the Oscars, left early for a burger after presenting award
View Date:2024-12-24 01:29:54
Actress Jamie Lee Curtis made quick work of her Oscar duties Sunday and ducked out early to go to In-N-Out.
The 65-year-old presented the award for the best supporting actress after winning last year for her role in "Everything Everywhere All at Once." The award this year went to Da'Vine Joy Randolph for her role in the "The Holdovers."
Curtis shared about her quick trip to LA, hitting the Oscars stage and stopping by In-N-Out on Instagram:
"Fly in, get fluffed and folded, present at the Oscars, go to (In-N-Out), fly away," Curtis posted with check mark emojis by each task. She posted along with a selfie and photos of the In-N-Out drive-through attendant and a burger with fries, all taken before the sun went down.

In-N-Out becomes an awards show tradition
Curtis isn't the first celebrity to go viral for heading to In-N-Out after an awards show.
A photo of Paul Giamatti in a tuxedo at In-N-Out after winning in the 2024 Golden Globes made the rounds in January. (Giamatti was nominated for best actor at the Oscars, but the award went to Cillian Murphy for "Oppenheimer.")
Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel explained to People that the fast food spot has becoming a tradition for people attending the show. He said some people come to Los Angeles just for the show and always want In-N-Out when they visit L.A. Plus, people get hungry at these events, People reported.
The joke made Kimmel's Oscar promo video, set in the "Barbie" universe where Kate McKinnon, America Ferrera, Ryan Gosling and Helen Mirren help him find is way back to "Oscarland."
Gosling appears in the skit wearing his "I am Kenough" sweatshirt holding an In-N-Out to-go bag and cup.
"I got In-N-Out!" Gosling says. "It's kind of this cool social media trend where you get it before the Oscars."
"Oh hey, Ryan," Kimmel responds. "Actually I think the trend is to have In-N-Out after the Oscars, actually after you've won the Oscar."
How many Oscars does Jamie Lee Curtis have?
One. Curtis's first Oscar award was for her performance as IRS agent Deirdre Beaubeirdre in "Everything Everywhere All at Once."
"I know it looks like I am standing up here by myself, but I am not. I am hundreds of people," Curtis said in her acceptance speech in 2023. "My bae Michelle (Yeoh), Ke (Huy Quan), Stephanie (Hsu) – the entire group of artists who made this movie – we just won an Oscar."
Curtis' early departure from the Oscars Sunday isn't surprising: she's talked about her early bedtime before.
At last year's Film Independent Spirit Awards, the actress told The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet that she was skipping the Oscar nominees dinner because of its 7:30 p.m. start time.
"Mommy goes to bed early," Curtis said. "There's nothing good happening with me after 9 o'clock."
